Beauty & Fashion Photographic Workshop
with Helen Leslie MUA and top fashion model Julie Dumont
4th November 2017
The format of the course is a hands-on workshop with classroom sessions in the morning and practical photo shoots in the afternoon.
It is recommended that students have a good understanding of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance and the various methods of focusing, however for those who don't help will be on hand throughout the day.
During the day we look at how to run a Beauty and Fashion shoot, working with make-up artists and stylists, shooting for a client and how to shoot for publication as well as portfolio work.
We cover several beauty lighting set-ups, using studio flash and how to use soft boxes, beauty dishes and reflectors to create drama and interest. We'll aim to complete 2 to 3 different fashion lighting set-ups.
During the classroom sessions we work on de-constructing lighting from a number of images to learn how to replicate certain styles and prepare for the afternoons shoot.
You will learn how to brief your team, how to direct your model and how to interpret the brief plus setting up lighting and selecting the best lens for the job.
Our model for this workshop is Julie Dumont. Julie is half French half British. She has worked with high profile and renowned clients including Vivienne Westwood, Dolce and Gabana, Alexander McQueen, Celine, Lanvin, Ossie Clarke, Akris, Mario Testino and has featured in a television commercial with Madonna for H&M.
