A masterclass presented by four industry professionals at Photo & Film Expo, Saturday 28th October, 2017. 11am to 4pm
Looking to create that real ‘Wow!’ shot? There are plenty of books and courses out there that take you some of the way but nothing that really pulls it all together in a cohesive and easy-to-follow way. What you need is the whole shebang - from beginning to end.
And so, the Concept-to-Completion Masterclass is born.
‘Concept-to-Completion’ is packed full of practical information, delivered in a logical way and designed to propel your photography to another level. Your four presenters take you on a fascinating journey, beginning with the original idea for the shoot and giving you an insight into every aspect of the process along the way. You will see, first-hand and in real time, how decisions influence outcome, how opportunities can be seized and challenges managed. Throughout the day, you will be able to ask questions on any of the topics covered. What to look out for in a professional make-up artist; how to communicate with a model effectively; whether to use flash or constant light in a specific situation; when to use Photoshop’s luminosity mask.
The idea of ‘Concept to Completion’ is quite simply to lead you step-by-step to realising the results you want. At the end of the day, you will have everything you need to go away and get creative, knowing where to start and how to plan and execute a great shoot.

- With four highly acclaimed international instructors this is going to be an amazing insight into how to create stunning images.
Mo studied fine art, graphic design & multimedia having worked on numerous international brands. He is head creative juicer at MSD and principal of Mzansi Creative Foundation. A design activist, he admins AIGAfrica – a collaboration with AIGA New York and SA graphic designers. He has served as Vice President of Icograda and served on the boards Think, DSA and Cafe. A member of the International Society of Typographic Designers & the London City and Guilds. He is a project lead on the Mandela Poster Project Collective and MSDOpen design innovators initiative.
A panel member, judge and mentor with The Guild of Photographers and runs a variety of Guild approved courses all over the world.
He has been a regular international presenter at Photo and Film Expo since 2013; in the UK, he is a key speaker at the NEC’s annual Photography Show.
Andrew’s guiding philosophy is that teaching someone to take a photograph is no substitute for teaching them to become a real photographer.
A qualified make-up artist and a wardrobe stylist, Helen has been published in a number of magazines. Very early in her career, her work was picked for the centrefold of a global MUA feature, where she represented the UK. Helen maintains that shape and colour are her guiding principles when approaching a commission or working to a brief. No face is a blank canvas and she likes to let a person’s features influence the outcome. Helen specialises in photographic make-up and loves the collaborative element of working in a creative team.
Alexa is a UK based dance artist primarily specialising in contemporary ballet. Following a successful career performing on stage and screen, Alexa now divides her time between teaching and dance for photography at both national and international levels. Her strength as a dancer is equally matched with her talent for guiding photographers who are learning the art of dance photography. Alexa is a stickler for both the aesthetic and the technical accuracy of an image, working with you to strive for the perfect moment to click the shutter.
