Dancing in the Dark
25th August 2017
Take a professional dancer and get her “en pointe” in a city after dark and what do you get? A little bit of magic! Cambridge provides and ideal backdrop for this with the bridges, water and well illuminated buildings.
This three hour workshop begins before sunset when we will use a mix of speed lights and portable studio flash to control the mix of ambient light and flash to create some dramatic images of our dancer, Alexa. We will also be using slow shutter techniques to introduce controlled blur.
After the sun has gone down we will look for suitable locations where the lights of the city can illuminate Alexa’s ballet and contemporary dance moves.
This workshop takes place in Cambridge.
This workshop runs between 7.30pm-10.30pm on the 25th August. The cost of the workshop is £99 per person. And is limited to a maximum of 8 photographers. Members of the Guild of Photographers qualify for a 10% discount on this event. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
Speed lights and studio flash will be provided, you will need your camera and a selections of lenses that cover 24mm to 200mm. Some wide aperture primes such as a 50mm f/1.8 can be useful for low light situations.
