In this hands on one day workshop we study the art of creating a photographic portrait. From classic fine art feel to fresh and funky we cover lighting that will reflect the mood and personality of your subject. Part of the course is also about communicating and directing your subject, whether they are a professional model or an inexperienced sitter.

For this workshop you should be familiar with your camera controls, you will need an interchangeable lens camera with a selection of lenses. Our suggestions are below. These are only suggestions, if you do not have them you will still be able to complete the workshop.
- Full Frame DSLR: 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 50mm & 85mm primes
- APSC 18-50mmm 50-150mm, 35mm & 50mm primes
- MFT 12-35mm, 35-100mm, 25mm and 42.5mm primes

Venue: Square 1 Studio
Set in a rural location near Dorking in Surrey, the Studio comprises of a main floor area with infinity cove, various backdrops & client lounge gallery overlooking. Separate Make Up & Wardrobe room, separate kitchen & independent toilet facilities are within the building. Studio 2 comprises of alternative backgrounds & can be used as a Green Screen suite. It also forms the facility for additional backdrops & Set Builds. Ample parking outside the Studio allows for easy access for clients & production vehicles & the grounds also allow for outside photography & filming.
