Dance: Classical and Contemporary Ballet at a Derelict Mansion.

For this Portfolio Builder Day, we have selected three professionally trained dancers who have years of experience dancing on stage and screen. Guy’s Cliffe House is steeped in  history and atmosphere, offering a heady mix of gothic mystery and decaying elegance: the perfect backdrop for your dance photography. Our dancers know how to work to camera and will use their skills and artistic interpretation to make the most of this mystical location. Look forward to capturing some truly inspired images.

As with all our PBDs, a range of lighting equipment will be available so that you can maximise the potential of the venue and the dance moves, including location studio flash, speedlights and portable LED lights.

There are 12 places on this event. Photographers will work in three groups of 4, giving everybody plenty of time to shoot each of our three dancers in rotation. Refreshments are available all day and a light lunch is included.

Our dancers are:

Alexa Hilton

Alexa is a favourite in dance photography; she is classically trained and dedicated to working with you so that you can capture the best possible shots. If you have attended any of our Mastering Dance Photography Workshops in the last couple of years or have travelled with us on one of our European road trips, you will understand why she is so popular.

Alexa’s dancing career spans countless major West End productions and music videos; she now shares her skills and expertise, teaching at her own successful dance school, but we are fortunate to have her with us on 16 th July. Equally at home with classical ballet and contemporary dance, Alexa’s grace and creativity will add something really special to your portfolio.

Charlie Bull

From Mary Poppins to the Jersey Boys, Charlie has danced her way through many top shows. With her stunning red hair and mix of contemporary and jazz dance styles Charlie is bound to become a favourite for dance photography.
