Shooting a winter wedding? Or just need to get in training for Springtime? Learn the critical lighting skills and techniques that you need to get those key shots - and to get really creative when the pressure’s on. You will learn to shoot a bride and groom in different settings at this lovely wedding venue. The course covers on and off-camera flash, mixing flash and ambient, when to use TTL or manual and the pros and cons of high speed sync. An invaluable hands-on course for pros and non-professionals who want to up their game and really make every shot count. From bridal prep to the first dance, this workshop will prepare you for pretty much everything.
The morning is a classroom based session where we will look at using camera manufactures own units as well as third party, how to trigger the units, different modifiers and the effects they can give. After a short refreshment break you will learn how to control the mix of flash and ambient light to give both natural and surreal effects. We cover manual and auto modes of the speedlights plus when to use high speed sync and the difference between high speed sync and hypersync. Finally you will learn how using a combination of white balance and gels to give highly creative results.
As well as getting the flash off camera we spend time looking at how to use on-camera flash and how this allows the wedding photographer to work smart and fast.
After a light light lunch our models will join us and we will put into practice the techniques that have been learnt during the morning.
