Terms and Conditions
Courses and Events
Appleton Photo Training, (hereafter known as The Company), can only accept bookings for events, along with the guarantee of payment, either payment in full at the time of booking online, or by deposit with the balance being paid not less than thirty days prior to the date of the workshop. Alternative payment options, such as sending cheques by post, can only happen by agreement with the company.
Submission of a booking form indicates that the delegate agrees to the stated Terms and Conditions and will be charged accordingly for the event requested.
Discounts and Promotion. From time to time promotional discounts are offered including society and club discount. Unless stated otherwise only one offer or discount can be used per booking. Discounts will not be applied retrospectively, or applied to bookings that have previously been made, regardless of payment status.
Once a booking has been made, The Company will contact the delegate by email to confirm the booking, and again at a later date as a reminder, and to check any special requirements or dietary preferences where food is provided. Delegates are responsible for ensuring that The Company knows of any special requirements or preferences needed.
Delegates are responsible for checking the Training web page for information on equipment needed, location and timetables. Where possible, information will be given regarding parking but it is the responsibility of the delegate to find their way to the location and source any overnight accommodation if needed. This excludes some residential workshops where accommodation may be included.
In the event of a training day or event being under subscribed The Company reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule it. Should this happen, or if the workshop had to be cancelled through illness, The Company will inform delegates immediately in order to re-arrange the workshop or refund the money. However, in the event of a cancellation, The Company is not liable for any other costs that the delegate may have incurred, such as non-refundable transport or accommodation.
Once a booking form has been submitted The Company will be unable to offer any refund on unfilled places (regardless of reason or circumstance) and delegates who cancel their place will still incur the full cost of the workshop. However if a delegate wishes to cancel or change to a different workshop and gives sufficient notice to The Company, allowing the place to successfully be filled, then the delegate will be offered a refund.
The Company reserves the right to refuse a booking.
The Company reserves the right to ask a delegate to leave a workshop for inappropriate behaviour and the cost of the workshop will not be refunded. Any training material, slides or hand-outs produced by The Company are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced (either in part or whole) without permission from The Company. Any valuables, personal property or equipment brought to workshops by delegates is at their own risk, and remains the sole responsibility of the delegate.
The Company cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to delegate’s belongings. The Company reserves the right to alter the content of training without prior notice, provided that the advertised workshop criteria are reached.
Overseas event: Prices are based on the exchange rate at time of booking but a surcharge may be levied on transport and accommodation costs if included in the event price if there is a significant change in the exchange rate at the time of the event.
Use of images taken on workshops and courses: Images taken by students whilst under instruction are not considered to be wholly authored by them and cannot be entered into competitions or sold. Use of images in personal portfolios is permissible but they should be clearly marked as taken whilst on a workshop or course.
