ExpiredEuroPhoto Roadtrip Autumn 2017 – The Swiss and Italian Lakes

EuroPhoto Road Trip

The Swiss and Italian Lakes

23rd September - 1st October 2017

Come September, pack up your camera gear and join us on a unique photographic journey through the breath-taking Alpine landscape of Europe. This EuroPhoto Roadtrip offers you freedom to explore the incredible legacy of the last Ice Age in the company of a small group of like-minded individuals. We will journey in comfort over the highest mountain range in Europe, stopping wherever we want to. Take the ferry across Lake Lucerne; enjoy an ice-cream on the shores of Lake Como; watch the local fishing community plying their trade; survey the luxury yachts and do some people-watching in Geneva – or simply marvel at the magnificence of the rugged, unspoilt peaks. What better way can there be to take fabulous pictures and enjoy life?

The lakes and mountains of Italy and Switzerland are as inspirational as they are awe-inspiring. Your nine-day photographic holiday is an intoxicating blend of glorious landscapes, regional cultures and the opportunity to shoot a range of photographic genres – including lifestyle, editorial and fashion with our on-board models. We don’t just take you somewhere; we give you as much or as little help as you need to make the most of a location. Whatever your level of expertise, you will receive advice and guidance with your photography in a friendly and supportive atmosphere and there will also be plenty of opportunities for independent portfolio building. The aim is to have a wonderful time; return home with images you are proud of and memories to savour.

You will be one of just six photographers on a luxury minibus. Before the trip, we will arrange your personal UK pick-up point to begin the journey. All accommodation on the holiday is single occupancy, room only, in a minimum of 3-star hotels.

Travelling with you is the support team: Trainer/Photographer Andrew Appleton; two experienced photographic models one is a trained dancer; a driver/assistant; a qualified make-up artist and wardrobe stylist.

The proposed route is as follows:

Sat 23 evening depart Folkestone for Calais via Eurotunnel, over night drive to the Champagne area of France for a breakfast stop plus some photos in this amazing landscape.

Sun 24 Following our stop in the Champagne region we head on to Colmar for Sunday night where we will explore the lovely town and stop overnight.

Mon 25 Early start to reach Lake Lucerne for late morning. The rest of the day will be spent exploring and photographing the town and model shoots on the edge of the lake. Late afternoon drive to our accommodation on Lake Como where we'll stay for two nights.

Tue 26th After an early start to catch the lake in the morning light we will head towards the town of Como stopping on route at Lenno to visit the Villa Barbianella where Casino Royale and Star Wars were filmed. You will have time to wander around the town of Como in the afternoon shooting both our two models and the architecture.

Weds 27th We say farewell to Lake Como and head towards Lake Garda, staying in the beautiful location of Sirmione. Sirmione is known to everyone as “ the pearl of the islands and peninsulas” thanks to Catullo, Sirmione is famous for it's thermal water with it's healing properties. There is a castle, marina and stunning views. It is the ideal backdrop for a spot of fashion photography and we will also be creating some cinematic style shots.

Thurs 28th An early morning drive to Lake Maggiore, we are staying in Stressa Western shore of the lake. From this base we will explore the landscape from both the edge of the lake and up on the mountains mixing fashion, editorial, landscape and cinematic styles.

Friday 29th Friday morning we leave Stressa and head towards Lake Geneva, staying in Cluses, France. The city and lake look spectacular at night so this an opportunity for some sophisticated fashion photography.

Saturday 30th We head back towards Calais stopping  overnight in Troyes, France. Troyes is a town full of medieval architecture, we will have plenty of time to explore and then take our final shots of our two models.

Sunday 1st We leave Troyes on Sunday morning and head back to Calais to catch a mid-day Eurotunnel arriving in the UK early afternoon.
